I survived massive cdiff infection after my gastric bypass surgery.

My surgery was on Sept 5th 2012 and I have been in the hospital four times since then on medications up to two weeks ago. Cdiff is a nasty super bug that I contracted in the hospital and it almost claimed my life twice, I suffered from toxic shock from the toxins released by this bacteria. I have fought hard to regain my health over the past almost five months and am happy to say I am on the road to recovery. I will be making my gym goal this evening. Have my surgery date for my “Y” gastric bypass

52 laps of Australian crawl and breast stroke 1.5 miles, good swim. I have caught up on True Blood and Newsroom so am ready for this week’s new episodes. Enjoying the Olympics and eating my sugar free Jell-O . Also now have my surgery date for my “Y” gastric bypass, September 5th. Dr. has changed my diet, no starched and more protein, changes for pre-surgery month. I am adding more strength training as well. Loading up on vitamins as instructed as well, 1000 mg of C, healing help. I am excited...

I am just plugging along

Still waiting for my call to go to the surgeon, all tests are good and I am ready to go. I am now swimming up to 2 miles, which is 70 laps if anyone is interested. I managed to gain 5 pounds however from my quitting the tramadol. I am on track to lose that and a few more pounds before surgery, reducing my fatty liver as I have to have my gallbladder removes as well along with the gastric Y bypass. Our society choices have out our children in a poor health as well as ourselves. School lunches do not meet the nutrition basic guild line, saturated fat, high sugars and loaded with sodium. School food has turned into a fast food, poor nutrition for the children. We have allowed corporate America and the bottom line place our children in a daily risk situation. Back from the valley of despair

I am finely back on track after making a choice to omit my pain medication from my life. I have improved my health to the point I felt it was no longer needed. I thought it was so sweet when my Dr gave me my step-down instructions and patted me on my knee on his way out of the room.
