I have not written a single word in here for awhile--it seems to me like I ought to have something to say. I had my knee scoped yesterday--it's not particularly painful but it is a little sore. The ice helps a lot, I must say. It was kinda neat having it done under a local with just a little Fentanyl--it certainly didn't hurt, but it was weird to feel the whole thing without any pain.
I saw Sharma yesterday for my quarterly review. He's an odd duck--I suspect he thinks he's a most important guy. He was very much in a hurry because he was behind and didn't have much time to talk to me--but he did have 10 minutes to talk about the HALT-PKD program. It's the 2nd time he's done this and it's very annoying. I suspect he's great once you're in ESRD, but that's not my problem right now. Right now I want to know what the future might hold and he's pretty darned superior about my concerns--it's almost like he's making fun of me and I don't like it. Of course, I don't have to like him as long as he's competent; after all, I only see him for a few minutes every 3-4 months. I really need to think about this in any case because it really pissed me off.
I saw Miller today for preop for the kidney cysts--only 10 days from now. Yee Haw!! Thus far I really do like Dr. Miller--a very straight-forward kinda guy and just the kind of guy I want for a surgeon. It will be so great to get those cysts removed--I know I'm going to feel a whole lot better once they're gone. Not only will I lose a little water weight, I'm apt to have a waist again. Recovery is going to take a little longer than I'd hoped, but I should be able to start training by the end of February and return to heavy training by mid March or so. Barring any unforeseen difficulties, that is.
I need to start eating for my Golds Gym weigh in tomorrow. If I do Chinese for dinner and a bunch of muffins, I should be able to get my weight up to 175 or so!! This is important stuff we're doing here!!
I'm tired and I think I'm going to bug out for today. I'm going to go home and take a nap--then I'm going to go down to the gym this evening and take a nice long hot shower before bedtime.
