Tuesday, January 20th 2009It's 6:45 in Washington DC and it looks absolutely nuts--so many people. And all so excited! I hope the day goes off without a hitch.
Monday, January 19th 2009Something strange--almost like "Area 51" strange--happened last night. Just before bedtime I took an Ambien (now generic as Zolpidem) and sat down to watch House until I got sleepy. The pill started to make me sleepy and I should have gone to bed--but instead I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. And I did: I ate about 2 cups of cottage cheese and a little bit of tuna salad. Not exactly a normal binge of choice. I can see myself chowing down on that cottage cheese just ...
Sunday, January 18th 2009I swear I am the whiniest whiner I have ever known. Today my back hurt, my knee hurt, and I was incredibly lazy. But after a couple of Tylenol and a little quality cat time, I felt OK. So I went to the gym and did some VERY boring work on the elliptical. The upside (actually three upsides): (1) Arizona was kicking Philadelphia's butt (2) I felt much better when I was done even if my knee was stiff and sore (3) I was proud of myself for actually going.
Saturday, January 17th 2009I feel old and cranky--probably because my knee aches. It's not like it's a sharp pain or anything, just kinda dull and achy and doesn't feel "right." It doesn't hurt as much as yesterday, so it's tempting to put off the scope. But I still felt something tear in my knee, it's still swollen, and I don't see much chance it's gonna get better without a little more aggressive action. I'll double check with Charlie when I see him on Monday.
Monday, January 12th 2009My alarm wasn't set right, so I overslept an hour this a.m. How annoying. Now I'm running at least an hour behind, but at least I got my carefully listed morning chores done. Of course I'll be a little late for work, but I can just take a shorter lunch, so all well be well.
