Sunday, Dec 19 2010 - 4-Hour Body Trial Run
View CECILY55's food & exercise for this day
I love new diets!!! And this one is kinda new, so I'm going to take it for a trial run. I have to admit I like the idea of a "minimal exercise" diet. It's not that I don't like exercise, because I do; however, extended sessions in the gym just take too much time. The exercise sessions can all be done in fits and starts and generally take 35 minutes or less 2-3 times per week.
Rules for 6 days per week:
>>Eat within 30 minutes of getting up
>>No "white" foods or foods that could be white -- no pasta, bread, potatoes, rice; cauliflower and white beans are OK
>>No dairy except cream (limited) and cottage cheese
>>Drink lots of water
>>Eat 3-4 times/day, at least 20 g protein per meal, legumes 3/4 meals (limit garbanzos)
>>Measure, record, track some metric
Rules for 7th day each week: There are no rules
So, the next two weeks are going to be a fun trial. The diet is fairly easy to follow--I tried yesterday and the food is tasty. In addition, I was never really hungry! I did track calories, and even though I ate a LOT and ate until I was full, I still only ate 1716 calories. My intake was pretty good: 88 g fat (33 saturated) for 45% of calories, 119 g carbs (37 g fiber) for 27% of calories, 120 g protein for 28% of calories. What was interesting is the fact that, even though a couple of glasses of wine at night were OK, I wasn't interested in drinking.
Today is going to be my "refeed" day. For breakfast this morning, I consumed an enormous plate of fried potatoes and onions topped with cheese, 2 eggs, and toast w/ butter and jam for a whopping 1006 calories. Which doesn't include the coffee w/ cream I had earlier. All this stuff tasted good, but I'm not nearly as satisfied as I was with the meals from yesterday. Could it be there is something to this diet? I can't wait to check the pounds tomorrow after all the carbs and stuff from today.
