I was sick today -- maybe that was the reason yesterday was so awful. But I'm starting to feel pretty good, so maybe there's hope.
I cooked rice for dinner tonight. Or at least I thought it was rice. Actually what I did was cook half basmati rice and half flax seeds.
It didn't taste too bad but it was a really strange consistency -- sort of gooey (or, to be more precise, more like sticky snot
.) I think once it cools, it will be more like a power bar than anything else. I put it in a flat plastic pan and covered the top with sunflower seeds and assorted nuts that have been on my shelf for awhile.
Larry is in a bad way. His hip hurts, he's depressed, and so he sits around and doesn't do his physical therapy so everything just gets worse. I had so hoped he would find being retired FUN. But this is not going well. I just can't quit what I'm doing to go take care of him, but if he doesn't get it together, I'm going to have to do something.
Tomorrow morning when I get up I'm going to row the rowing machine for 10 minutes. I may not be fast or energetic, but I can do 10 minutes. And then I am going to set up the shower curtain and take a shower! What a concept!
I discovered I have more food than I thought in the house -- I have RAMEN NOODLES! Wow! And I have frozen chicken in the freezer and fresh blueberries in the fridge (which I should freeze in portions so they don't go bad).
It's almost bedtime -- Betty has been whining at me for the last 20 minutes. She is such a priss.
But I am going to do a little bit for myself tonight: I'm going to have a cup of chamomile tea and just work on feeling good about me. I have some good music on the CD player and a little Vitamin V in my tummy. I am going to get me together one way or another. And I have a purring cat, which when you get right down to it, is pretty darned nice.
I'm about to head off to bed. I think I'll work on Kunz until I get sleepy and then I'll hang it up. Tomorrow my goal is to write that little essay on the Akers v D.L. White Construction hearing. I'm not going to spend a huge amount of time on it--just a couple of hours. It's due Friday at 5 p.m., so I would like to finish it up tomorrow.
