Update - I may have just overworked the muscles in my legs since they weren't used to that kind of activity. Previously I've avoided stairs then yesterday walked down 10 flights. Maybe I should have started with 5 flights? Climbing up was too much - I felt like I needed a code blue team to go with me. Then again, I huffed and puffed just walking down the hall back then. two steps back

I wasn't going to share this but I figure failures are just as important as successes, so here I go. After losing 25 pounds and feeling oh so good about myself, I found I had bursitis in my hips and my doctor advised I stop walking until the pain went away. He gave me some exercises to do to help my hips and after reading them, I promptly went out and bought an exercise mat since several of them were floor exercises. Been gone too long

I'm back now and back on track again. This is much harder than I thought it would be. I've been at this since April and I've only lost 25 or so pounds. I was down to 215, then back up again. I was down to 213, then back up again. It would seem that changing my lifestyle is going to take a whole lot longer than I wanted. I went to the doctor for a checkup yesterday and...there was good news and not so good news.

The not so good news - I have bursitis in my hips and have to stop walking and climbing up or down stairs for a while. I have some new exercises from PT to do to help my hips. My doctor said I need to find a different kind of cardio exercise - bycicling, swimming, elliptic. Sigh! I don't have equipment, I don't have a pool and I don't have a gym membership! Feeling petty, excited and a Strange Occurence

A few days ago I shared something heartfelt with another CK member who I thought was my friend. She then reposted what I said as her own story which irritated me because that's like lying in my mind. It doesn't help that my post to her was related to my mother who died in a fire on August 4th, 2004. Bad timing I guess. 20 pounds gone - finally

I was beginning to think it was a lost cause and I would never lose that first 20 pounds. But it finally happened and I am very happy about it. I'm 8 pounds away from my interim goal and 19 pounds away from onederland. I can hardly wait. I did everything I needed to do to get off on the right foot this week so all I have to do now is stick with the plan.
