View LYNNABEL's food & exercise for this day

Stealing a second from other things to jot a few notes.

One – I think Ellen is saying “doggie” in addition to “Daddy” when she says, “Da! Da!” She is motoring around like no body’s business – we have to keep the floors very clean because she will find the one leaf stem tracked in from outside and eat it. Ditto dust bunnies. Ditto rug shedding. Yuck. Her facial expressions are hilarious, though, when she puts these prizes into her mouth.

She’s been sick the last few days. We’d had a saga/drama with constipation with her. Suffice it to say, I can add “manual deconstipator” to my list of superior mothering skills (which consists, so far, of nail-cutter-extraordinaire and tamtrum-outlaster-master).

She’s been very whiny lately – and I’m not complaining when I say that –just noting it. I’m sure part of it is the constipation, part of it is the fever, but I think either there is more going on with her, or she is just “in the habit” of whining now. Makes me feel badly for her to be so unimpressed with life in general.

I’ve been pretending with myself that I am not allowed to mentally or verbally complain about anything the kids do or don’t do, and it is helping my over-all and minute-to-minute attitude tremendously. Steve does this naturally, but I have to work at it.

Will’s birthday party is coming up. I’m looking forward to him having fun. Chuck E Cheese, thank you very much.

Will was Mickey Mouse for a Halloween evening at the Children’s Museum this weekend. We had a good time. However, I was greatly confused by the multiple times that adults assumed Will was a girl that evening. I can’t figure out why they would think that. It doesn’t bother me, really, but I just couldn’t figure it out. Steve says its because without boy clothes on, Will has a gentle sparkle in his eye that most boys don’t have. He may be right.

Still on my plateau weight-wise, although measurements are moving, and I’m wearing smaller clothing. Granted, today’s size 6 is NOT 5 years ago’s size 6, but I’ll take it.

More later or tomorrow.

Being a mom is the hardest and the best job in the world. I hope your little one feels better soon. I know what you mean about trying to keep a positive attitude w/ the kids and not complaining. I struggle w/ being a half-empty kind of person, but it's getting better. My cuties help so much. This morning I could barely get out the door for the "Mommy, give kisses. Give Hugs." That's what it's all about!

1. I love "tantrum-outlaster-master" 2. Will does NOT look the least bit like a girl. For pete's sake, he even has a "boy" haircut. I'm with Steve on the eyes thing, though. How much does the costume cover up? 3. Chuck E. Cheese, OH BOY! Are there diggers there? Can I come and hang out? :D and lastly 4. You know that she's picking up immunities with the dust bunnies, right?

HA! manual deconstipator -- that is not one of the things your friends warn you about -- and yet -- been there, done that! // AND - :nono5: complaining about a size SIX! Good job, Lynnie! // P.S. Thank you for your kind words in my bloggy. Seriously -- I think my hormones are getting the best of me and it's time to talk to my gyn about that!
