View LYNNABEL's food & exercise for this day

The world is in sync some times. I heard this program on NPR:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=102880681
about this website:
www.TrueMomConfessions.com

And then read Callie's blog.

My true confession of motherhood: My 3.5 year old son is still in a crib because I don't want to deal with him leaving his room once he's down for the night or a nap.

And? He'll probably be in that crib for a while. :laugh5:

the ONLY reason we moved Jacob was because we didn't want to buy another one when Trevor was born. With Trev, on the other hand, he was climbing out and it was pointless. I have, however, been known to go into my room, lock the door, and then lock the BATHROOM door as a double barrier, just to be able to have a moment to breathe,

I WISH I could keep Eva in a crib. For exactly the reason you state. Unfortunately, she figured how to jump the sides of hers before she was even two. We did have to invest in a lock for the outside of her door as a way to counteract the battle over staying in her room (we unlock it once she's asleep). If he's content in that crib, I say more power to you!

I'm suprised he hasn't scaled it yet ... how is THAT possible? I have learned this: we do what we need to do for everyone to get a good night's sleep .. whatever it takes, you know? I'll have to check out that link ... I agree 100% with Callie's post the other day .. we are think we have to be perfect and we think all other mothers are doing it better than us. That is SO unfair and just plain sucks! Have a Happy Easter, Lynnie!

My youngest sister slept in a crib until she was 9! My dad took the sides off, but it was still a crib ... it was b/c there wasn't really room for a full-length bed. We had 2 adults & 5 kids in a 500-sq-ft, 2-1/2-bedroom house! She didn't get a bed until my oldest sister went off to be an exchange student & she could move up a notch in the bed pecking order, LOL. Won't Will figure out how to climb out of the crib pretty soon?
