Wednesday, Aug 26 2009 - The last "final" goal
View MOLLYJ's food & exercise for this day
I weighed in at 154.75 the other day with a final goal of 155. I went ahead and re-set my final goal to 147. Previously, I had set a goal of 160 because when I started at 194 that seemed like a good place to start. It got me just in to an acceptable BMI range. And I've dieted down before and "just couldn't stand it" to do what I had to do to stay that low. And 147 may be "too low". After all I'm a 52 year old peri-menopausal woman. But I'll try it. I'll know if it's not sustainable.
I'm doing spinning. I like it. You can feel it crank your cv fitness. But one hour classes seem a little narcisisstic, coming as they do in the midst of the dinner hour and family time. We'll have to see how it goes. Perhaps a couple times a week, if not all three times. But my goal is to find sustainable ways to keep exercise in my life. I'm going to be sad to see the sunny days of August turn into shorter days, earlier darkness, cooler nights that do not invite a bike ride. But I will seek to find other ways to exercise.
It's good to feel thinner, to feel my collarbones and my hip bones. It's nice to feel good about how clothing fits. I'm actually anticipating getting my cholesterol done in October (in the "get a life" department). But I do not expect my cholesterol to be down. It sits right above 120 something through a lot of weight changes so I don't think it's going to come down now. But my weight is healthier and that's good.
