View RPVWILL's food & exercise for this day
Good Morning CK, how are ya? LOL. I don't feel as well as I sound but I'm adjusting. I'm done with Atkins for now. I think I did it for a month and a half with little success and a lot of fear of clogging my arteries. I've stepped up my exercise from 30 mins. a day to 60+. Right now, since I'm 300+ pounds, low impact is it for me, so it's a lot of walking, stationary bike, weights.
45 days left in this contest at work to be the Biggest Loser. Have never watched that show amazingly enough. You'd think somebody who is obsessed about their weight, nutrition and exercising would try to pick up tips but I have not. Anyhoo, I'm beating the pants off the two loud mouth women who try to intimidate me. GUUUUUURRRRL, PLEEZE! So comes the extra push. Eat right, exercise more, bigger calorie deficit, rest and sleep, enjoy.

Will, I'm glad to hear you're dumping Atkins. I didn't want to criticize, if it was working for you. But from what I understand, it's A) not sustainable and B) not actually very healthy or safe. Eat good, REAL, food from all the food groups, count those calories, and you'll be fine.
I was once over (waaaaay over) 300 pounds too. Plus I have a foot injury that precludes any impact exercise at all. Have you tried elliptical machines? The action is more like running, but your feet never leave the pads so it's zero impact.
Some people find it bothers their knees; that was never the case for me. My worst problem, when I was really big, was getting on the darn thing. They're kind of intimidating (or was to me, at least). Be careful. Have somebody at your gym check you out on how to operate it. Second to running, it's really great cardio. It burns more calories than the stationary bikes (which I also use) because you're on your feet - but not banging them up & down.
You ignore those clucking hens at work and just keep on showing them up.

William - you're the MAN - you naturally have the weight loss advantage - don't let those broads beat you! Lather, rinse, repeat (and keep your eye on the prize) . . . and, the low impact will burn the fat for you just fine. Increasing your time is a smart move.
