It has been WAY too long. Life keeps getting crazier and crazier. Here is my recap:
1. Half marathon - Did not go well at all. It was my worst race ever. The biggest thing that got me was the heat and humidity. I had trained all winter in below 35 degree weather. A couple days before the race the humidity went crazy high and the temp was in the 70s. It takes me a while to get used to running in the hot weather and I definately cannot do half marathon race pace in it ( ot now anyway)...

Taper week! This weekend we got the last long run done and this Sunday is the big day! St. Louis Go half marathon here I come!!!
My goal this week is to enjoy the taper, let me body heal, get good rest and fuel my body with healthy stuff. The only thing that is scaring me a little is feeling/taste I am getting in my chest. Hello All!!!
Last week was spring break for my girls and we took a little road trip. It was nice to all get away together. We had a nice and relaxing time. I cannot believe March is almost over and this weekend is easter weekend. Time if flying!!!
8 days until the half marathon, it is April 7th. This training season has been a mental one for me. I have been feeling so scared about the half marathon this entire time and I know the reason why, is because I have not lost the weight...

The 5 mile run was OK, I did not break 50 minutes. Time was 50:26....3 seconds faster than last year. I had to fight pretty hard to meet last years time. This morning during my workout I was reflecting on the race and how disappointed I was afterward. It is a fact that I am 7 pounds heavier than I was last year. That extra weight is going to make it more difficult for me. If I want to start seeing some better times I am going to have to lose this weight. The choice is up to me!

time is flying by!!! I cannot believe it is already March 13th. Overall things have been pretty good.
Running:
Overall my running workouts have been going very well. This past Sunday was a 14 run for me and 12 mile run for the rest of my pace group. It was a cool run (not cold but neat). You know St. Louis has that Arch thing

We ran from the Park we usually start from and ran downtown to the Arch and back. Everyone loves this route and it takes you on part of the last 2 miles...
