View SAXONHARP's food & exercise for this day

Last week I took the entire week of from exercise. It was a little strange BUT I think it was needed. This weekend I ran 4 miles with a friend. She needed to walk jog so it was a nice way to ease back into it. Then on Sunday I ran 5 miles on my own and it felt sooo good. It truly enjoyed the run. It was hard to get out of racing mode. I kept having to tell myself to slow down and enjoy the run.

Honestly the past 2 weeks I have not been great about logging my food. The stress of the upcoming 1/2 marathon was really getting to me and I was feeling a little trapped and frustrated? (guess not sure exactly what I was feeling) by the logging. This weekend I started logging again, every morsle of food, and I felt great doing it. I am hoping that over the next 3 months since I am now on a maintenance running/training plan I can focus on weight loss. Losing weight would really help me acheive my fitness goals.

Met with my running coach last week to discuss my goals for the year. I really want to do one more marathon. It will be nice to do one with a little experience under my belt. I also have this goal, but not sure if it is possible, is to complete it under 5 hours. Tim says it is possible if I get my racre times down over the next few months. So this summer I will be doing the speedwork group again and then I will joing a training team for the Fall 1/2 marathon or Full marathon in October (this will give me a lot more support during training and during the race). I will decide if I am doing the Full marathon around July. Tim did say the one thing that is keeping me from moving to the next level with running is believing that I am a runner/athlete. I am starting to believe in myself more, this past 1/2 marathon really gave me some confidence. So here is my race schedule for the year. The 5ks and 10k are great to prepare for the bigger races. My new 5k goal is 29:30 (it was 31-32 minutes) and my new 10k goal is under 62 minutes but for the first 10k it would be to beat my 64 minute time.

I am always so impressed with runners, kudos:)!!

Thank you so much for your nice comments:), that is impressive what you and your husband have done:)! It just doesn't make sense to just keep making payments on interest....I want financial peace:), with no debt:)....I would rather give money away to people that need it, not credit card companies.

I know what you mean about the break - it's tough to do but it helps so much and, for me, it makes me like running again if I'm struggling.

I like your goals on the 5/10 k races and am glad to hear I'm not the only one who's gonna run another marathon. Makes me feel less crazy. :laugh5:

I can't wait to hear everything as you progress through your races! You will do great, I have no doubt.

What an awesome list! Taking a week off was probably just what you needed.
