Sunday is the Mo Cowbell half marathon! The week before a race, for me, requires a lot of deep breaths. Especially now that I am doing such specific training for a certain goal. Also, the goals have usually have been between Me, Tim, my family and my CK friends. Now our training team knows my goals. I know I should not feel like this but I feel like I don't want to let my teammates down BUT I am working hard not to put that on my shoulders because in my head I know that is just silly!!!! The goal is 2:20. We drove the course over the weekend and it is a pretty flat course except for a large hill at mile 9.
The gals in my pace group will not be running with me because they are going at a slower pace. Although we did a pace run last weekend for the training team and 2 women did the 10:40 pace run with me!!! They were so excited they were able to do that for 4 miles! BUT a friend of mine is going to run with me. She did this 1/2 last year in 2:15 but she says she is not as in good of shape this year. We are going to try to run the entire thing together at the 10:40 pace but we have a gentlemen's agreement that if one of us is feeling better the last half we are free to move on.
The eating is going pretty good. It was a very busy weekend and did not log for 3 days. I am at 224 and am happy with that! I am being very careful this week. AND there are so many motivating people on CK that it is making me excited to get back to weight loss!
Tapering is nice but boy I have a ton of nervous energy!!!!
