It has been way too long since my last blog. Finally crazy work travel is over and today is the last day of school for my daughters. Life should be a little more reasonable right now.
Clara is doing much better. She has been seeing a therapist and it is definately helping but we are only in the begining of helping her feel better. At least she is coming to me for help and I do see her smiling more. Whew.....
I am ready to get back into better shape again. I am doing OK. I have at least maintained my small weight loss, even with all the travel and stress. I am staying between 228-229! I will take that. This week I am consistantly logging again and it feels great.
It is summer and speed work started a couple weeks ago. It is funny a lot of the gals from training team are coming to speed work and thought I was going to coach it!!!! That would be a NO! But I am getting better at it. My first year I was always in the back of the pack. Last year I was in the middle of the pack. THis year I am kind of in the front 1/4. It is nice to see that progess. Tuesday we did 800s and I hit my assigned goal times and was happy with how I felt.
Set 1, .52 mi, 4:46 (I did not do the splits right on this one)
Set 2, .52 mi, 4:42 (2:22/2:19)
Set 3, .52 mi, 4:47 (2:26/2:21)
Set 4, .52 mi, 4:42 (2:24/2:17)
This summer I am doing 2 5Ks and a couple of 1 mile time trials. It is nice having a break from all the long distance running. BUT in mid July training team starts again and they have asked me to be a pace coach again.
Hopefully it will not be so long between blogs for me!!! I need to stay connected!!!!
