View SAXONHARP's food & exercise for this day
Happy Friday. Hopefully I just completed my last treadmill workout for a while! Since we had Snowmageddon on Sunday I have had to do all my runs on the treadmill. I don't know how people do it. Today we are going to get a lot of rain and then this weekend it is going to be in the 40s and 50s and all next week. I cannot wait to get on the roads again, I do not know how people do most of their training on a treadmill.
Yesterday was my official weighin at Finish it Fitness and I have lost 41 pounds, in 12 weeks! I can honestly say that I have never felt better. I cannot lie, the first 4 weeks were VERY difficult, a lot of mental work and some tears to get used to eating fewer calories. I went into this program knowing that I had to develop a new relationship with food. Corny sounding I know but it is true. During those 4 weeks anytime I had negative feelings about being hungry and good I immediately replaced it with a positive thought like "I am burning fat," "this is going to help me reach my goals." This is the advice I received from my counselor and this simple thing made a big difference for me. I was probably ready to accept the advise too. This truly helped me get through the first 4 weeks. My running performance did suffer while getting used to the calorie deficit but it was worth it.
I get to eat more calories now and my running performance has improved so much. Next week we will do measurements and set a new weight goal. This weekend Training Teams starts for the Spring Half Marathons. I have my sights to finally break 2:20. If I stay healthy and injury free I know I can do it. I am nervous and excited to see everyone again. Many people have not seen me since October.
I am so glad I am doing this weight loss and fitness program. I really need the support and accountability. I don't see that accountability makes me weak, I am using resources to help me reach me goals!
