After all these years....

Life is definitely a journey and I have reached the part in my journey to finally start to take of myself. I stopped thinking of myself as a failure because I could never stick to a diet and lose the weight. So I just pick myself up and try again. I recently got the book "The Flex Diet" by James Beckerman, M.D. and is providing me with many aha moments and light bulb moments. For the first time in my life I am counting calories. I have tried to rationalize in more ways than I can count as to why to not count calories. So here I am, a newbie to CK and joining a group.

Hi, I have also read the Beck Diet Solution, really great book, it makes a lot of sense. I found even though I haven't followed all the advice exactly (like looking at the cards on a daily basis or always eating at the table) it still helped :)

Good morning Margarela- Welcome, welcome! I am happy to see a little activity in this group. I'm not a big poster but I do check to see what groups are active. You're off to a great start if you stopped beating yourself up over your weight! Even though I have been here for some time I haven't been able to do as well as others. Some people just click and get it. I'm still finding my way. I might have to look into the book you speak of. I am presently trying to do the Beck Diet Solution. It all makes perfect sense and I am trying to work it. The times I do best are when I log all the food and exercise. It's a great joy to see all the info when it's logged. And, this is the first time I have counted calories, too. Always took many other routes. But, yes, it really does work. I wish you all the best in your journey!!! Look forward to see how well you are going to progress! :)
