I definitely need to be a part of your group/forum. I have been struggling with my excessive weight for most of my life. I've had a personal life goal since I was 45 yr. old to be under 200 lbs. by the time I turned 50 yrs. old. I now have 1 year before I turn 50 yr.
I don't have a lot of time to sit in front of the computer to log, post, etc. but I definitely need a support group. My job is very sedentary and so sitting some more won't really help me, but I do need to have a place of accountability, and a place to receive and give support. I have been reading posts of this group off/on for a little bit and think this will be a good fit me.
My commitment is to work at losing an average of 2.5 lbs/week, which after 52 weeks will be 130 lbs. Currently I am 320 lbs. so if I can follow this plan, I will be 190 lbs. in 52 weeks. 2.5 lbs doesn't seem that much to lose every week, my mind is thinking "How hard can that be?" I'm sure it's harder than I current think it will be, but I'm also thinking that whole concept of the journey of many miles starts with just putting one foot in front of the other. I need to keep it simple but consistant.
Would anyone be interested in particpating in a weekly/monthly thread located on this forum? We can post our personal food, exercise, health goals for the week. People can then be more specifically focused and supportive to others and their goals -- not to mention it will make us more accountable to ourselves.
It was just a thought.
