Group Challenge Week of March 22

Hello! It is the group challenge thread as promised. If everyone can add your amounts that you want as a personal goal, I will tally everyone up for our group goal.

To start off:
Minutes Goal
Help us work together as a team to meet or exceed our minutes exercise or activity goal. As the minutes are recorded throughout the week I will keep track of the group levels.

KCal Goal
Each individual will tell me what they would like to burn in terms of calories for the week. I keep track of who has recorded & burned as it goes into the group goal.

You can participate in EITHER or BOTH goal challenges - it's up to you!

At the end of the week, I will also post how we as a group did compared to how we planned.

The goal of this challenge is to motivate you to set a goal number of minutes each week and try to attain or even beat that goal.

If you want to participate this week, please let me know:
- Which goals you would like to participate in (minutes / kcal or both)
- What your goals are for the week (how many minutes/calories would you like to burn)

Then when you exercise and have a chance, post to this thread! The challenge starts each Monday and ends each Sunday at midnight!! Have a fabulous week everyone!

Well... we had a FABULOUS week! I am so impressed with this amazing group of people! I learned that I over estimate my calorie burn and I need to adjust for that and I learned that I need to be more realistic with my goals. I am not on the biggest loser and I do have other chores to tend to in my life!

Lori -- Hi! You lost something and you stayed on target! Sometimes it takes a few weeks for our bodies to adjust and show the weight loss... stick with it and you will see the pounds drop! And you are under 250 now! I am so proud of you. Great job on looking at the menus ahead of time -- smart thinking!

Don't get discouraged it will come off eventually. You may have a larger loss next week. I didn't lose an ounce that bummed me out but I decided it didn't matter because I feel better and have more energy. Keep up the good work!

I did get another 20 mins of walking in last night to round out the week.

I am so bummed today though, I did so well on my calories and exercise last week and I only lost .2 lbs. I can't believe that's it. It's pretty disheartening...

hey all!!! hope u all had a gr8 day!!! plz add a final 15 min. for our goal this wk putting me total 236 min.!! i'm soo happy with that!! yea!!! :clap: lori that is wat i had vowed to do after to my surprise olive garden didn't even have their own nutrition guide (what that says 2 me is they're embarrased of the calories) not even one i could wait 2 c wen someone else was done cuz i asked!!! lol!!! u have gr8 will power to choose ahead & not c the menu!! i had thought about checking all the calorie counts first & then looking but ur idea sounds even safer to me!! keep up the gr8 work, ur inspiring!!! hope we all made our challenge??!! everyone have a gr8 week!!! i'm doing one day at a time!!! lol!!! peace to u & urz!!!

What helped me to travel and eat out and stay within my goals was to look up menus online before I went and out decide what I was going to have before I ever left. I never even looked at menus when I got to the restaurants. It made a big difference.

I honestly try to avoid the Italian restaurants because the calories are outrageous. That must be why they taste so good. I could only have half of the dish I selected that night and brought the rest home and gave it to one of our daughters when she came over so I could get it out of the house.

Did 30 minutes of aerobic exercise! Burned 353 cal! I think my totals are 220 minutes and 2023 calories (I think, did fast math). I really had to try hard to reach my goal! I'll keep checking for this new week's challenge =D Great job everyone!

hey lori amazing feat to have eaten out all wk & make ur calorie target!!! i'm impressed!!! i had a hard time the one & only time i've gone out to eat since i've started!!! we went to olive garden & i almost opted for just a plate of pasta as they only had a very minimal nutrition guide there at resturant to look at....i think they had 5 items on it!! lucky me my boyfriend had glanced on line & steered me to the lasagne fritta appetizer(i had mentioned how good it looked), a fried item & we had both had alllowed 800-1000 calories for our outing!!! being extremely cautious & not trusting even his memory i ate half!!!! lucky for me cuz his memory was not as good as it could have been.....half was a little over 500 calories, lucky also for me i just had some salad with it & no bread so was good!!! but u a whole week!!! wow!!! congrats!!! & ur exercise to boot!!! AMAZING!!

40 mins walking today - If I can get another 15 minutes of something in before end of day today I made my 150 mins for the week. Doesn't seem like much but an accomplishment for me on a travel week. Even better, I stuck within my calorie target every day this week while having to eat out. One more day to go and I should have another solid green check week.

hey everyone!!! wheewwww u guys rok!!! georgia, montana & new york i wanna grow up & b like u guys!!! (in the xercize world!! lol!) seriously u r all sooo inspiring!!! i used to hop on the treadmill & go for 45-60 & now i have such a hard time making it 25 min. it's kind of daunting....but i read ur stories & i know if i keep plugging away day after day & wk after wk it will all come back!!! thank u all for the inspiration!!! best of luck & as always peace to u & urz!!!

Just got back from the gym. Tried a different machine! Did the arc trainer for 45 minutes, burned 530 cal!! Woo!!!

Thanks so much! I got on a treadmill, 2.5 mph incline gradually increased to 9 then slowly declined to 0 over the course of an hour. Heading to the gym again today for another hour, goal is incline 10!

Sunday is the last day!! Then we rev up for Monday!
Absolutely awesome group here!
Yesterday I worked outside -- Yay gardening!
125 minutes of tilling, hoeing, planting, overall fun stuff! 1027 calories!
And it will be worth it if we get our vegetables for the summer!
Thursday was filled with walking..... 60 minutes / 768 calories
Wednesday 60 minutes / 698 calories!!

My totals:
305 minutes/3236 calories
Remaining:
95 minutes/1964 calories
Whew!
