Group Challenge -- Week of March 29 - April 4

Hello! Week 2 of our little group challenge! Sorry this post is late! I have had internet issues for what seems like an eternity! If you are new to this this is the way the challenge works:

To start off:
Minutes Goal
Help us work together as a team to meet or exceed our minutes exercise or activity goal. As the minutes are recorded throughout the week I will keep track of the group levels.

KCal Goal
Each individual will tell me what they would like to burn in terms of calories for the week. I keep track of who has recorded & burned as it goes into the group goal.

You can participate in EITHER or BOTH goal challenges - it's up to you!

At the end of the week, I will also post how we as a group did compared to how we planned.

The goal of this challenge is to motivate you to set a goal number of minutes each week and try to attain or even beat that goal.

If you want to participate this week, please let me know:
- Which goals you would like to participate in (minutes / kcal or both)
- What your goals are for the week (how many minutes/calories would you like to burn)

If everyone can add your amounts that you want as a personal goal, I will tally everyone up for our group goal.

Then when you exercise and have a chance, post to this thread! Also, in your post, please tally up your minutes and calories so I have a check figure for my spread sheet. It makes like so much easier to have a check figure. That is the accountant coming out in me! Thanks so much!

The challenge starts each Monday and ends each Sunday at midnight!! Have a fabulous week everyone!

My goals for this week:
Minutes -- 300
Calories -- 2400

Last week was ridiculous trying to get those minutes in! I felt like I was on the biggest loser!!!!!!! So this week I am tweeking my numbers to better fit my schedule and be more realistic. I hope everyone has had a great Monday and Tuesday and today will be an awesome day! I just know it!

gayle u rok!! thank u for keeping our challenge going!!! it gives me a reason to post & read others posts!!! i will use 210 minutes for my goal this wk & i have 71 minutes so far for mon & tue!!! good luck this wk everyone!!! my dr had me cut my calories to 1,500 from 2,000 & i'm anxious to make my target all wk!!! dam he's a slave driver!!! lol!!! peace to u & urz!!

2100 calories

On Monday I completed 30 minutes and burned 270 cal. Tuesday we were celebrating Passover so I wasn't able to get anything done =( booooo

hi guys!! really really bad hip day but got 11 min. in!!! i was thankful for that!!! hope everyone had a gr8 day!!! had cake for lunch for my sisters 50 birthday so had to really b careful for dinner but still made my target !!!! yea!!! even after a 700 cal cupcake!!! peace to u & urz!!!

u go new york!!! gr8 job on the exercise!!! can't wait till i make even 45 min a day!!! plz put me down for 37 min 4 yesterday!!! i'm so happy that i have been keeping under my 1500 this wk even after my sisters gr8 birthday cupcake!!! lol!!! when i had to have soup & bread for dinner that cupcake didn't seem worth 700 calories which is what i counted it as cuz it was a giant cupcake & didn't want to underestimate the calories!! funny that i used to think nothing about eating 2 of those in a day, along with meals & snacks & & &!! lol!! i've always been a big baker!!! it's one of the things i'm known for in my circle of friends & family!!! i did recently learn how to make that pineapple cake from weight watchers & it is amazing!!! no fat & low cal!! u just get a box of angel food cake mix, (DON'T GREASE PAN!!!!) & mix with a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple & bake either as cupcakes or a 13 x 9 pan!!! gr8 wit some fat free cool whip!!! there really are alot of sweets, for those of us who have a terrible sweet addiction, to partake in modestly that won't wreck the calorie bank for the day!!! i'm a person that tries not to deny myself everything cuz i feel for me that is not what i respond well to!! so i'm having fun finding things that will cure the itch without breaking the bank!! i applaud those of you who just say no to everything & for those of us who can't we just need to b a little more creative so we can get the job done!! if there are any of u like me out there i wd always b interested in things u have found that r a substitute for high calorie foods or sweets!! i have also found that there are alot of gr8 soups out there that won't break the bank, r very filling & with a nice piece of bread (i toast mine) & a salad & r a gr8 meal!! vegetarian veggie soup & butternut squash r 2 of my favorites & incredibly easy to make at home!! if anyone wants the recipes just ask!! have a beautiful holiday w/e & peace 2 u & urz till nxt time!!

Hello all - I have 120 mins in total this week and plan to finish it out tomorrow with another 30. Sorry I haven't posted my time daily this week. Work has been a bear!

I wish everyone luck through the holiday tomorrow. I am cooking the meal this year and plan to have a pretty healthy spread. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit and a first - no pie this year. I'll weigh my ham with my handy scale and plan to make it through the holiday with a green check and some exercise thrown in for good measure.

Saturday I did 60 min of walking and burned 424 cal. Been a long week! I had to take my students on a college tour and down to NJ so I did not get anytime to get to the gym, but I did so much walking with my students that I was able to get some exercise in. My biggest problem with eating is holidays. My fiance is Jewish so we had passover and because I'm christian we had Easter as well. There was a TON of food!

Total for this week:
300 Minutes
1941 Calories

This week will be easier, no holidays and easy work schedule! =) Time to get back on task. <3 u all for the amazing support and motivation

Hi all, I'm new to the group!

Losing 100 pounds in 2010!!! That is my motto... I'm going to lose this weight FOREVER!

Today is day #11 of my start, and I started boot camp.

I love it! I roll outta bed at 5:15, and by 5:30 I'm sweating without even thinking about it! By 6:30 the endorphins have kicked in and I'm feeling GOOD about myself for doing something positive!

I've never been an excersizer, but I've also never been able to stick to anything long. I have SO MUCH MORE ENERGY than I usually do, and there's no way I'm going to cheat after working so hard each morning.

I have a 2 year old and a 13 year old. I'm a single-mom who's doing it on my own, and work full time. If I don't do it at that hour, it will just never get done. And you know what? I CAN DO THIS!!!

300 Minutes (60/day M-F)
