let me introduce my self. My name is Rick T. I'm from carmel indiana. About year and 1/2 ago i left my job, to go back to school to become a teacher. I've had a lot happen it the past 3 years. But the most devestating was gaining the weight back that I lost 5 years ago. I used calorie king to do it along with a mentor. But I was 247lbs about 5 years ago down from 330lbs. Well in around the biggining of the year I weighted myself on my scale and I got ERR... I was like i'm so fat that my scale groaned. But my scale is only rated at 330lbs. So when i went to the dr. in febuary I weighed in at 346!! i was like what the (insertyourfavoriteword). I knew I had to lose weight again and this time I knew I am going to do it. the dr gave me meds for my HB, and Diabetes, but nice thing is i got my retalin back I'm 30 years on and yes i still have ADD ( i didn't "grow" out of it). I think this has helped a lot. But the good news is today i weighted in at 320lbs. I feel really good lossing 26 lbs is a load off. But I have a long way to go. My writen goal is 202, but I don't know if that would be a good weight for me or not, I want to feel and look good. I just want to say to all of you that, if I can lose the 83lbs, then we all can do it. We all can lose over a 100lbs. I'm 30 years old, but i too have the painful joints, i've had gout since i was out of high school. I've had back surgery with 2 herniated disk at the age of 21 (and i still have 3rd one but its not touching my spinal cord). My back is usually stiff and when I walk more than theth of a mile my hips start to hurt. So yes I understand the pain, and I just want to say push through it. Do as much as you can even it its little. Lets do this!!! Its our life lets take it back from our guts.

Very Truly Your's,
Rick

Wow! Congratulations on the weight loss. I am 66 and a retired math teacher. It is a great job if you like young people! I want to recommend water aerobics. I do an hour a day and I love it. It keeps you exercised and does not hurt the knees or the back and all the sweat is washed away. Keep up the good work, Best wishes, Pat

Rick,

Good to meet you. I started last week and found that I did fine for four days but as soon as I missed planning my meals I was a mess. I'm back on track this week. I was recently diagnosed with ADD (I'm 50) and was amazed to learn that many people with weight issues suffer from ADD.

I wish you the best of luck and I'm encouraged reading your post!

Thanks,
Kate

Great to hear that. I also found that writing down the calories as you eat is very helpful.

Hello! Keeping track of calories is important, I recently started using the CK application on my blackberry and it has helped a lot! I make better choices when eating out because I am out of town for work quite a bit. I restarted CK in March, I used it a while back and it helped, I think when I got off track I just "ignored" it by not logging on. I have a little over 100 lbs to loose as well.

Congrats Rick on your weight loss so far!

Hello!

I too have over 100 lbs to lose. I started out at 321 and I'm now at 292. I am grateful for every pound I lose. I try not to think of the whole amount just 5 lbs at a time. Weight causes so many health issues and I was almost incapacitated by my weight. I even purchased a rollater because I couldnt walk very far without being out of breath and in pain. However I have lost a total of 27 pounds now. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and I can walk 1.25 miles on the treadmill. No rollater needed. It's a day to day challenge but with the support I have found with the CK program, I am being successful. I know I can do it now.

Linda
