I'm still having trouble losing weight

I weigh 419 pounds and I am working out with weight lifting and lower back and ab exercise and time on a cross trainer I usually eat about 2200 calories a day and burn off about 500 calories a day.

All the charts out there tell me I need to consume about 5500 calories a day just to keep at my weight.
If this true why am I not losing weight faster I'm lucky to lose a half a pound a week.
I do have a setentary lifestyle due to the fact that I am confined to a power wheelchair but I can walk a little.
I figure my calorie burn rate for exercise at 4 calories a minute except for time on the cross trainer which I figure at 7 calories a minute.

I hear a lot of frustration in your post that I can relate to. I've changed my lifestyle really drastically in the last year, and the weight is NOT budging. It can be thoroughly discouraging at times. That said, I'm trying to look at this as a venture in search of health rather than fast weight loss, but sometimes it would be nice to see Biggest Loser type results. LOL

How are you doing? *hugs*
