So what do you do?

Hi all! Please tell us what you do to stay motivated. After all, we will be here for a while and motivation is key to staying on this journey until the end when we reach our goal!

I'll start things off....
My motivation comes from my family. I want to be around for my daughter when she graduates, gets married and has a family. My father died at age 45 of a massive heart attack after not taking care of himself. This was before I graduated, got married and had a family. So I'm learning to make "being healthy" a priority.

Also, watching the number on the scales and tape measure go down are great incentives too. :thumbu2:

My motivation comes from thinking positive. I am thinking positive about how I will feel once I get down to a lower weight. I will have more energy. I will lower my risk of complication from diabetes. Maybe I can off some meds. I can hold my grandson and soon to come 2nd grandchild easier. I will enjoy my bike riding more and more and go longer and longer distances. I will be able to cuddle with my husband easier. I will feel happier.

Hi! I am new, but I have made it two weeks, which is an eternity for me! My motivator is that life is passing by so fast watching my little one grow up. I go to water parks and things with her, but I never "fully" participate in anything, because in the front of my mind I am waiting to get to he top of the line and be told that I can't ride because of my weight. Everyplace I go, even to the grocery store, my mind is never really there because I am thinking about my weight. It is not fair to me or my family to never be 100% present. If I don't change now I will look back and it will be to late.

Welcome, welcome, welcome to CK and our group! You are so in the right place. Thanks for posting to this thread and sharing your motivators. I can absolutely relate to your post. I have often sat on the sidelines while my family enjoyed the rides due to my weight. But I am making great strides through daily logging of foods and activity. Holding myself accountable is really working for me and it will for you too. I wish you much success! Your little girl deserves all the effort you can muster. And you deserve to live life to the fullest. You can do this!!! Just stick to the program.
