I'm right there with ya girl.... I can NOT have just ONE! Once upon a time for about a year or so, I could do that, but not before then and not now. I feel like the food equivalent of an alcoholic. An alcoholic can drink coffee, tea, and water, but not alcohol. Well, I can eat fruits, veggies, and whole foods, …. but anything with too much sugar, salt, or processing will leave me out of control.
On my last blog (when I almost went on a binge), I tried to analyze my situation… and it came down to me allowing myself a candy bar. Yep. That's what started it! And I had to chuckle myself when someone on another site (where I had also posted the blog), said she laughed when she read that the candy bar had started it all (after my LONG list of stressors in my life, lol).
Anyway… I'm still walking with a co-worker at lunch-time and staying in range calorie-wise. I do allow myself an occasional bit of 'ice cream' (Dole whip), from the ice cream stand, but have to realize that I have to work extra hard to resist a binge once I get home.
Also I've been watching my sodium because my blood pressure has continued to creep up and I don’t want to have to take BP meds. Well, let me tell you, watching my sodium has forced me to eat more whole foods because the processed stuff is loaded. I've even had to reconsider which salad dressing I buy.
