Question About Exercise, Calorie Target & Weight Loss

Hi Everyone,

I just have a question. I just started the program at the beginning of this week. I haven't figured out how meet the exercise goal based on my current schedule, so I haven't exercised this week yet; however, I have met or been lower (which I am trying not to do) than my calorie target everyday this week. I understand that exercise is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but how important have you found it? Were you (or are you) able to meet your calorie target without it, and if so, did you continue to lose 1 to 2 pounds per a week, or were you meeting your calorie target and not losing weight? Did you start the program without exercise, or do a combination of both from the beginning? What has worked for you? Also, how important have you found staying within the carb, fat, protein guidelines in that target nutrition section?

I have personally found that exercise is very important and makes it much easier for me to reach my calorie target (and below it). I started the program doing both, and I went about 2 weeks without exercise and noticed a HUGE difference. I was going over my calories and my definition and energy started to vanish. It happens quickly if you do not keep up with it. If you are looking to lose weight and get your body looking good, you have to exercise. Otherwise, you will lose weight and just be a smaller, undefined version. Also, weight training helps increase metabolism! Good luck.

I exercised pretty regularly before I started CK so it is a very important part of my weight loss routine. You can definitely lose weight without working out if you stay with in you calorie target or green check zone. On days that I don't exercise I am able to stay within my calories for the day.
