....to all in this group. I have been doing alright. I need to step up the exercise....though. I am however eating only my alotted amount of calories and it has not been too difficult staying within that amount.
I hope to have a decent weight loss this Monday. This weekend however is our 23rd anniversary...and we are planning a meal out. I hope I don't blow it.:nono5:

Hi, Ive started CK in Jan, and i only lost to day 12 lbs. Im a little bummed about it but I know that I have learned a lot of things over the past few months about over-indulging. I would like to join this group so that i can stay connected with stronger individuals than myself, if thats ok.:help:

By all means it is ok Stringbean09, Sorry to here you are bummed , I am new to CK myself I started in April I am losing slowly but I am ok with that.I dont get to exercise much [ cause of pain in my feet and legs] but I give myself credit for doing what I can . Dont be so hard on yourself if you just focus on eating right [ healthy] the weight will be a bonus. We all slip once in a while but we all are learning and I am learning new things everyday.Hang in there you can do this I believe in you. 12 lbs is a lot and dont get so discourged that you put that 12 back on.Go back take a look at your loging and see if there is different things you need to do andI also learned through my Dr. we have to pay att; to what we eat sometimes we in our comfront zone and feel we already got it down pack and we find ourself out of control. So I hope this helps and encourge you to not give up people who do dont win.Keep up the good work.
Hugs

STRINGBEAN09,

Sorry you're bummed about the slow process. But remember two things....

- You ARE 12 pounds closer to goal than you were, and
- The slower it comes off, the slower it creeps back on. Trust me, I know this one first hand. When I lose it fast, I put twice as much back on -- twice as fast.

But this time (starting in 2005) I took it off by eating healthy and exercising (focusing on good health)... and when I lost my focus and started putting it back on, it came back on very slowly. Now I'm struggling with getting it back off, but at least I'm not where I originally started.

Hang in there, the tortoise DOES win the race :wink3:

Hi CC,, Nice to see you :wave1:

All great advice. You're doing great. I also just learned one more thing about eating healthy. I had noticed that when I eat healthy (not just in my calorie range), I lose weight easier. I always figured it was because my body had the nutrients that it needed to function properly when I ate properly. But I just learned that insoluble fiber (found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains) can actually block some fat absorption (saving us from SOME calories) :smile1:

So WooHoo! for one more reason to eat healthy!

As for me, I gotta get back on track. I keep being tempted by so much junk. I think I ate about double what I should have for about 5-6 of the 7 days in last week.

I had gotten to the point where I really craved healthy food. I think it's parially because I'm out of balance. When I was making progress, I was exercising daily and eathing healthy, but also listening to Christian tapes, etc. while exercising. (keeping my eyes on God).

Some things happened at church, and we kind of drifted away (resisting the temptation to change congregations). After a couple years of that, we have finally changed congregations and I'm thinking maybe that's what God wanted us to do all along. Soo.... God willing, maybe I can get my primary focus back (on Him), so that I can get my what should be my secondary focus (being healthy) back too.

On the brighter side. I attended my oldest grandson's 4th birthday party Saturday -- all went well and he had a wonderful time. I hope everyone else had a good weekend too.

Hi Dee,
I haven't been on in several weeks. Stressed from work, finances and "empty nest".

I have found that when I don't eat enough protein through the morning/afternoon that's when I start eating all the junk. I have now lost 36 lbs since January 7. So I am giving in to temptation more, where I shouldn't.

From the brighter side I see you attended your grandson's 4th birthday. I am SO EXCITED, yesterday was my youngest granddaughter's birthday (the party is Saturday).
My oldest daughter and 4 grandchildren came from NC (son in law couldn't get off work)
and my youngest daughter (son in law couldn't get off either) should be getting on her plane to fly from NM in 1.5 hours. She will be here at 4:30 EST.
I took the day off from work, thought I could sleep in and relax. I have been awake since 4:00 I'm so excited that I will have all 3 of my daughters together, even if its only through Saturday night. She will board her plane back to NM on Sunday morning at 8:00 am.
Empty Nest surely STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone keep up the good work. It really is worth it.
Have a great day.

Sounds like you could use some sleep too (to control that ole appetite hormone) -- lol

A family reunion with all the grandkids sounds like so much fun. I only have two grandkids so far and I'm fairly lucky that they only live an hour and a half away.

I hear ya on the empty nest. Mine will probably be totally empty by the end of the year and I'm not looking forward to it. My daughter (my baby) who is 25 y/o has never left home, but is looking for a house to buy. I'm happy for her, but sad for me. She is my best friend. It will be very quiet and lonely without her here.

My weight continues to fluctuate, but I did manage to drop close to 20 lbs befoer gaining about 8 lbs back. I'm on my way back down now (lost couple of pounds)... and appetite's not doing too bad right now. I just need to find the energy to get in some exercise.

Have a great week.

Dee
