verse and prayers for Monday July 22

Good morn sisters

Yesterday was a good quiet day. Church, and then preparing the garage to be painted. It was nice because even my ds helped out :) I'm anxious for it to be finished because then we can work on making my laundry room and making my play room bigger for the fall.

Church was good yesterday and this is what I retained:

We need to get back to the roots of our spiritual life. Trials are there to test us. When we read we receive truth of the word we are strengthened. Jesus was tempted in the desert with only part of the word but he didn't fall for it. He responded: it is also written… It is so important to know the word and be balanced and not set all on beliefs on any one particular verse.

Goodness and severity of God...go together. God covered Adam and Eve after the fall but also expelled them from the garden never allowing them to return.

God gives us balanced truth... Must be taken together.

There was a particular anecdote that stuck with me:

Trials are like boiling things in water:
When you boil a carrot it goes soft, when you boil an egg it goes hard, but when you put coffee in hot water it is transformed into something wonderful…the message for us: trials can leave us broken and soft like the carrot, they can harden us like the egg…or they can transform us like the coffee

Have a wonderful Monday sisters! Enjoy the 'coffee' God is trying to make with us :)

DISCIPLINEDMAMA - 8:19PM UTC, Jul 22nd 2013

I had to go and make my coffee after reading your post Kris.....which lead to several other things to, here I am for a moment:).

Ps. 139:14 "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works a wonderful, I know that full well."

I am doing well, but I am scared of being the mushy carrot or hard boiled egg....I am feeling like coffee now, but not a very confident bold coffee like I like to drink...just sweet and mellow, more like tea.

Thanks for being there and listening:love:

Kris, Steph, Erika, and everyone else:wave1:

Have a wonderful day:heart1:
