verse and prayers for Saturday Aug 10

KRISTINEFREDRIKA - 12:10PM UTC, Aug 10th 2013

Good morning sisters

From Max Lucado:

He has a price on his head. No place to lay his head. But somehow he keeps his head. He turns his focus to God and finds refuge! Refuge is a favorite word of David’s in the Psalms. But never did David use the word more poignantly than in Psalm 57—a song of David when he fled from Saul into the cave. On his face, lost in shadows and thought, nowhere to turn. But then he remembers he is not alone. And from the recesses of the cave his voice floats:
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me.
For my soul rests in You;
And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge.”
Make God your refuge. Not your job, your spouse, your reputation, or your retirement account. Make God your refuge! Let Him encircle you.Let Him be the foundation upon which you stand! And that foundation will support you right into eternity.

Steph: that does sound like a lot…Another reason to stay close to God. Keep sharing. We're here for you. We can pray and be a sounding board :) I will pray for your reunion.

Annette: How did all the visiting go? HOpe it wasn't stressful. I always prefer when people come here...we have two corn roasts coming up. One at church tomorrow...which I will basically enjoy, and then one next Sunday in my husband's family...I hope to eat and leave before people get too intoxicated...not fun.

Erika: yesterday was good. The morning was a bit hectic. One of the mom's wanted to come on my Friday picnic because I'll be taking her boy in September. She wants to get him used to the daycare a bit. I've had her daughter for almost 2 yrs. Anyway…when you have a parent it throws the group off a bit. I was very glad to finish early. Had time to go to my appointment and have a coffee :)
I can,t stand the start of school either…things are just better when my kids are close.

Victory = series of right choices....

Nothing tastes as good as Peace feels!

God bless you and yours!

Good morning ladies:),

I am up early today....relieved that we still have a couple of days left to meet our summer reading goal, praying that we is the only goal I gave the kids this summer...praying that we make the time to complete the task:).

I enjoyed what I read this morning on not being idle and on keeping busy, I have always admired speedy hard workers, but it always seems like I hear the Mary and Martha story more often...and i am always concerned of being too much like Martha....this was refreshing....I have always wanted to be more like the hard working ant, I found what I read motivating:).

I have been reading 2 Thessalonians this morning, i started by reading 2Thess. 16-17 "May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." .....followed by a section on warnings against feels odd to read a verse that I had thought was man made in the bible...."If a man will not work, he shall not eat." 2 Thess. 3:10b, I liked reading about how if people are not busy they are busybodies....these people are urged to settle down and earn the bread they eat. 2Thess. 3:13 "And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.

Kris--it was nice to hear my mil's comments while going through their empty home:), my mil was stronger than my hubby with visiting the house for the last time:).....she didn't cry until he told her the money is all in her account, for her. It definitely left me feeling quiet for the party....I preferred to listen, I just didn't have much to say. My bil lives next to a nature preserve with a beautiful view of the mountains....we mainly watched and listened to a thunder and lightning storm off in he distance during the party:).

I better go make breakfast and head out for my walk with the pups:).

Have a wonderful day ladies:)!
