I'm from Pittsburgh PA and the best thing that Pittsburgh offers a cyclist is a ton of back roads not far from the city center. The worst thing is that it rains a lot. We even have a saying:Q: What do you call a cyclist in Pittsburgh that does not ride in the rain? A: Out of Shape. I would ride more often if I didn't get injured so much or easily. I've been riding seriously for about 25 years. During the season (April to October) I try to ride about 150 miles per week if I can stay healthy. I ride a Lightspeed Ultimate. My advice to new riders is to start slow and add milage gradually but consistantly. Also ride with a mirror, some say it not cool but it add a lot to safety.
