Happy to find a group

Good morning all !

I love CK because it forces me to be mindful of what I eat. I am concentrating on portion control. Would like to exercise more but after a day of teaching High School, I'm pretty beat. I just got a new pedometer and I am trying to walk more.

Glad to be a part of this group and hope to hear from some of you.

Hi, and welcome to the group. I try and walk on my lunchbreak. Segementing exercise can be a very good habit. Try doing a little in the morning and a little at night. Again welcome.

HI- I just joined too! I have the diary thing figured out and love it. I'm not sure how to use this forum post. So I'll give this a try with you. I'm a newly retired teacher and have found that the change in activity level has affected my weight. CK seems to help keep my on track. Good luck with the exercise thing. :hi:

I found that if I waited until evening to exercise I was sunk. I've never been a morning person but I finally decided to try two mornings a week at 5:30am before everyone wakes up. It has reallly worked well as I can rally to do that Tuesday and Thursday and find I actually enjoy it now. Good luck.

I exercise also very early in the morning and have for a couple of years now. I find myself with more energy, and am so glad I have my workout out of the way. If I leave it for PM, I just blow it off and am sluggish all day.

Keep up the AM exercise...you will look forward to the workouts!!

5:30 AM works for me as well! I find that if I don't get in then, that at the end off the day I just come home and go plop! I do try to get a walk in at lunch time but that can be weather dependent. I find if I do 20 minutes on the treadmill first thing and then try get a lunch time walk in, that I don't have too much to do in the evening to hit my 10,000 steps.
If I don't bag that first mile in the AM I never quite seem to catch up during the day and I've run out of energy by the evening.

I walk or go to the gym during my lunch hour at work. I too find that if I wait til after work I won't do it because i am worn out from the day. Ihaven't found a routine for exercise yet on the weekend besides cleaning. Need to work that in somehow.

I'm new to the group too. I'll turn 50 in June, and I recently lost my job. I've gained 8 pounds, and I'm now up to 154 lbs. I'd like to be at 137.:hi::help:

Welcome! It sounds like you're getting after it quickly before you've gained much so very good for you. Keep positive about the job search and let exercise and eating right be one of the ways you take care of yourself and prepare for the next job. This is a great site, so you're in the right neighborhood for eating and being healthy....welcome.

Today is DAY ONE with CK and this one has to count. I'm a great dieter and love to eat as well. Anxious to see how online help will boost my will-power.

Activity isn't a problem for me since I dance, garden and well as teach.....but I get hungry...and then the snacking begins. Hoping to find some help for staying on course.

Like everything that gets done - schedule exercise into your day. I find it works for me to exercise first so I am not cleaning up twice. I also used to ride a bike to work (seven miles each way) at least once a week.

Hi everyone:

Well, I'm a bit discouraged because I've gained 3.5 pounds since last week. That is unheard of; I suspect it might be water retention. Oh well, I'm going to the gym now.:huh:
