I'm a Newb!

Just joined CK a week ago and have never participated in blogs or forums so posting this is a stretch for me. I'm from the oil coast of Florida and my goal is to shed 40 lbs one at a time. I'm trying to get used to using the program. Seems very hard to meet my caloric goals since exercise subtracts from my total. Any suggestions? Anyway just trying to get comfortable with this stuff.
