So sorry that you have so much stress in your life right now. It will get better. I really admire you for trying to be healthy at the same time. Keep up the good motivation.

wow, you have a lot of stress going on in your life. I think, sometimes, that is the hardest part of losing weight. somehow, everytime I have tried, something has gone wrong and I have been back with the snacks. has to do with cortisol and norepinephrine jacking up the liver's glucose production which, in response, causes an elevation in blood insulin and rebound hypoglycemia and of course that calls for a snack. kind of a vicious cycle. anyway, we are in this together. I really feel blessed to have people I can talk to about my personal demons. thanks. Betty

Hi ladies! CK is very helpful for keeping track of what works and what doesn't. I have found that even if I'm messing up CK helps me get back on track sooner so I do less damage. I used to feel that I was just losing the same 20 lbs over and over again. I also keep an audio recording of a short guided-meditation on my computer at work so that I can just breath and de-stress for a few minutes when I need to. Welcome!

Absolutely understand your situation! Doesn't stress make our eating go crazy?? In the past year, my husband has been laid off and then taken a job making half as much money while working almost twice as many hours, our son-in-law of 13 years was killed in a traffic accident and I was diagnosed with COPD. Did I mention that I'd ballooned up thirty pounds in the midst of the chaos?

Here's a wonderful thing I've discovered that may encourage you...having SOMETHING under my control (knowing how many calories I've eaten and that I'm doing the right things for my body) with the help of CK is a great touch-stone throughout the day. My attitude now is that, because life is completely unpredictable, I need to honor the body God has given me with healthy choices if I want any hope of keeping pace. Hope that helps, please stay in touch on the forum!

I would love to be part of this group as well. about me: I'm over 50 (cough, cough). Have 2 college students both boys, ages 20 and 21, and a wonderful husband. Unfortunately, they LOVE to eat lots of food. We're all on screwy schedules so planning is a little difficult. I ride a motorcycle, though not as often as I would like. I like to sew, cook (only for family gatherings) and live vicariously through my kids and their friends. Most call me Mom which is fine with me. I'm smack dab in the center of 2 very stressful situations right now... placing my sister in a group home (she has frontal temporal dementia) and helping a brother who has just gotten out of the hospital after a heart attack, sepsis, and now it is believed that he has an alcoholic dementia. So any help that this group can help in keeping my hand out of the cookie jar would be very appreciated!
