Alternative title: "Little" Reminders
I am more than two years out from my RNY surgery. I was working on homework Friday night and got a little snacky. I was nibbling on things here and there while I studied - admittedly not all great choices, but that's beside the point.
My husband came home from a school volunteer commitment with a plateful of chicken pieces. It smelled delightful, so I put a little drumstick and a thigh on a plate and continued my nibbling.
Felt fine when I went to bed, and even felt fine Saturday morning. We ate a late brunch, mine consisting of mashed up boiled eggs and 1/2 of an English muffin. One bite into the eggs and two into the muffin, and I just had that "I'd better not eat any more" feeling. A few minutes later and I actually got sick - which never happens anymore. I'm guessing a little piece of chicken got stuck on it's way down.
After much discomfort through the weekend, lots of hot tea and broth... I can finally sort of eat again, but it still hurts a little. I think because my pouch shrank from two days of not eating. And I lost 7 pounds! I slept a lot, too - I think from exhaustion and lack of nutrients!
Damn - I don't know whether to be grateful for a reminder like this, or curse it.
Well, yeah I do... since I spent most of the weekend doing the latter.
