Kellie Haupricht lost 81 lbs!

What were your weight-control goals?
To be able to come off diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol medications. To live a healthy life with my children and future grandchildren.
What motivated you to lose weight?
I was tired of not feeling good. I stopped weighing myself when I saw 290 on the scale. Not sure actually how much I did weigh when I started to diet. I lost aproximately 40 pounds on my own before joining I am now a little over half way mark till I reach goal.
What was your weight-loss method?
By using the method of counting calories and forcing myself to move more. I have not only gone through a 'body repair' so to speak, I have also searched deep within myself to figure out what makes me eat and why. Then I was able to arm myself with the right tools to repair myself inside and out.
What were some obstacles you encountered while losing weight?
It is extremely hard to change your own eating lifestyle. It gets harder to try to change your family's eating lifestyle too. In June of 2003 I had already lost 40 pounds. Then I fell from my attic in my garage and broke my back. Being unable to do regular exercise and work really stunk. My best friend "Debilyn58" had great results with, so I joined in the fall of 2003. Here I have learned so much more than I would have ever learned on my own.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Educate yourself. Be totally honest in your food diary. When you fall behind, pick yourself up and keep going forward. Water, Water, Water. Most of all I learned from my friend 'Monica': "Heal your mind first."
How do you feel now that you've lost weight?
I feel proud of myself. It is empowering to be able to take control of your life. At this point I KNOW I can make it to goal!
How have the products or services offered by CalorieKing assisted you in your weigh-loss journey?
The information on the web site is a wonderful tool. The ease of the Diet Diary, and not having to do the math! Most of all the members themselves. Being able to communicate with others who have been there or are going through the same thing you are is priceless! Gaining weight is easy. Losing it and taking control can be one of the hardest and loneliest things you'll ever do. Being a part of the community makes it enjoyable. The tools I now have and the friendships made will be with me forever.

Is this the right time and program for me?
