What were your weight-control goals?
When I started to diet I weighed 345 lb. I now weigh 215 lb but I would like to lose another 40 or 50 lb.
What motivated you to lose weight?
Two years ago I needed to have surgery and I overheard some of the nurses talking about needing to get more people to help move me and a bigger wheelchair. I was so embarrased I decided right then and there I would never be that overweight again.
What was your weight-loss method?
I stopped eating all fast food, cut back on my portions, started to drink more water and for me I believe the exercising was the biggest help.
What were some obstacles you encountered while losing weight?
Friend's try to get me to eat by saying things like "oh come on one wont hurt" and going out most resturants dont truly have a good low calorie menu.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
This is a slow and very hard process.. you will have set backs but don't quit just keep on going. Set small goals and when you reach one reward yourself. Also if you are really craving something have it but in a small portion. Instead of a whole candybar try 1/4...don't feel bad if you don't lose quickly, it takes time.
How do you feel now that you've lost weight?
It is great to be able to go into any public place and be able to fit into any chair or booth. And to be able to walk without feeling like I am unable to breath. And being able to go into almost any clothing store and be able to wear the clothes is wonderful!!
