My weight loss goals are to be healthy and look better. I want to be there for my friends and family. They are important to me and I need to be there for them.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
My main motivation has been myself and my need to be there for those who love me. I want to be more active. I want to be in less pain.
What is your weight-loss method?
I try to watch what I eat. I eat single servings of food and then stop. I found out that if I eat for three people, I will weigh that much. I have started eating less processed foods. My diet also has more protein than before and less fat.
What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
Many obstacles have been in my way. Time, money, drive, and sometimes no real reason. For a time no one really cared about me and that's why I didn't care about myself enough to try to lose weight.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Have support. It can't be done alone. I have lost 110 lbs since high school but the last 60 lbs have been with help from others.
Reward your self with something, but NOT food. Be sure to drink plenty of water too.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
I feel a lot better physically. Mentally I am still trying to get over depression. There are times I fall. I try very hard to get back up as soon as I can.
I have a lot of loose skin from the loss and it can be hard when looking at myself right now but I know it will go away soon.
Now I know that trying to lose weight is worth it to extend my life.
