What are your weight-control goals?
I didn't start on the CalorieKing program to just see if I could lose some weight - I wanted to change the way I live my life. And I've done it!

I now have a conscience when it come to eating. I hold myself accountable for things I'm doing to my body. CalorieKing was a HUGE help in that.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
I got tired of being the "fat guy" or "big Chad." It seemed that everyone had become so comfortable with me being fat, including me. I took a trip to Italy in February with my wife's family and when the pictures came back I was super-disgusted with what I saw. I had always considered myself a healthy person but the road I was on was not healthy and could have shortened my life considerably.

Also, my wife and I are trying to have children. So I wanted to be healthy for my family as I believe a father should be role model for his children. I thought to myself, 'how could my family respect me, when I don't even respect myself?'
What is your weight-loss method?
Calorie counting and exercise, exercise, exercise!!! The key is being consistent. If you fall down one day, get up, keep going.
What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
I've been blessed with a good supporting cast, including my wife, friends, co-workers and gym staff. I had a couple of people tell me, early on in the process, that "it'll never happen." I just used that as motivation and they've since changed their tune and are supportive as well.

The hardest part for me is hanging out with the guys and having a few beers while eating and watching the game. The temptation during those times was the worst but the good thing is, most of the guys were supportive and never pushed it. Once in a while I'd indulge, but I never lost focus.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Just keep going! It seems a little out of routine at first but if you keep at it, you will see results.

And remember: Honesty is the best policy. Don't lie to yourself by cheating on the calories and exercise. Sure, you can get away with it in front of everyone else but it's important to be strong and make yourself a better person physically and mentally.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
FANTASTIC!!! I really thrive on the compliments. When you've worked as hard as I have then it really means a lot when someone notices and makes a nice comment.

Also, people look at you differently once you've successfully lost weight.  My wife and friends reminisce a lot with photos, which is always fun. It's nice to laugh at my old photos now. To see how proud everyone else is of me is the best part!
