Q&A

What really motivated you to gain control of your weight this time?
I had a wake up call when I realized last summer was the first time I never got into a bikini. I also saw pictures of myself in a bikini and refused to ever wear one again. I remember putting one on and trying to work up the courage to go to the pool but all I could do was look in the mirror and cry.
Was your ultimate goal to lose the pounds or to be able to do something that your weight prevented? Did you achieve that goal? What was it?
I just wanted to lose weight to get my confidence back. I've always had at least one "problem" area that I didn't like, but I had gotten to the point where I couldn't think of one part I liked. I have gained a lot of confidence and like trying on clothes again.
How have you tried to lose weight in the past?
I never tried to lose weight before because I used to be able to eat anything I wanted, but when I turned 19, my metabolism slowed down and the weight caught up to me.
Why did you choose CalorieKing this time?
My mom told me about it because she heard from a friend that someone she knew lost a lot of weight doing it and it wasn't a quick fix. I needed some strict guidelines to go by to discipline myself enough to lose weight.
What were some of the obstacles that got in the way while losing weight? And how did CalorieKing help you overcome them?
I had trouble sticking to healthier foods. I have a huge sweet tooth and my friends and I love to go out to eat. I learned a lot of good information about what to eat from CalorieKing that has helped me make better decisions.
What in the CalorieKing program did you find most useful on your journey to weight control?
I like keeping track of my calories and the information that is given in the different levels you go through.
What tips would you give others who are trying to manage their weight?
Everything needs to be in moderation and you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. Discipline and patience is needed to acheive your goal, but you can't deprive yourself of everything or you will end up binging on the bad food.
Reflecting on your motivation to gain control over your weight, how is the CalorieKing program helping you now?
It is helping me maintain my weight and lose a little more to get to my goal.
Why are you willing to allow CalorieKing to share your story with others?
I hope I am an inspiration to others who feel badly about themselves. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and with patience and determination you can get there.

Is this the right time and program for me?
