This chutney makes a nice alternative to the traditional cranberry sauce, which is higher in sugar.
Preparation Time: 20 mins
Cooking Time: 1 hr
Yield: 50 x 1 Tbsp servings
Bring water to a boil. Stir in brown sugar. Add onions and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in vinegar, apples, seasoning and zest. Simmer slowly for another 30 minutes.
Stir in cranberries, currants and orange juice. Boil for an additional 10 minutes.
As a gift, jar this and tie with a bow.
