Ingredients:

1 1/2 lb halibut steaks, fresh or frozen (about 5 oz each)

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 1/2 Tbsp margarine or buttery spread, melted

1 1/2 Tbsp margarine or buttery spread, extra (for sauce)

3/4 cup minced onion (for sauce)

1 1/2 red bell peppers, cut into thin strips (for sauce)

1 can (12 oz) tomatoes, undrained, cut up (for sauce)

1/4 tsp salt, extra (for sauce)

1/4 tsp red pepper (for sauce)

Directions:

HALIBUT: Preheat broiler. Lightly sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper; brush with buttery spread. Broil 5 to 8 minutes or until fish is firm, turns translucent to opaque (cooked through).

SAUCE: In a saucepan, melt buttery spread. Add onions, red bell peppers, and red pepper. Cook just until tender, about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, simmer, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
