About this Recipe Makeover

Chocolate Almond Coffee slims the traditional Coffee Mocha's calories, fat and added sugars by eliminating the whole milk, whipped cream and sugar, and replacing them with lighter ingredients.

Ingredients Convert to Metric Show Makeover Show Traditional

  • 1 cup strongly brewed hot coffee
  • 1 Tbsp Equal® Spoonful *
  • 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 cup whipped heavy cream


Combine all ingredients in beverage mug until blended.


1) For a Cappuccino effect, top with froth.

2) For a Coffee Mocha effect, top with light whipped cream.

3) For a non-dairy topping, top with Cashew Cream or Ricotta Cream (see recipe links).

* If desired, Equal® Spoonful can be replaced by either 1-1/2 packets Equal®, or, 1 tablespoon granulated or brown sugar.
