4 cup skim milk 1/4 cup brown sugar, unpacked * 2 Tbsp melted butter 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 2 cup old-fashioned cooking oats ** 2 cup chopped apple 1 cup raisins, unpacked 1 cup chopped walnuts Directions:
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix well. Cover and cook on warm or low setting overnight, or 7 to 8 hours. Be careful not to overcook. When done, stir well and scoop into individual bowls. Variations:
** Can replace old-fashioned oats with steel-cut oats (allow for extra calories). Add dried cranberries to the cereal, or if desired, replace the raisins with dried cranberries. Serving suggestions are not included in the nutritional analysis. (Per Serving)
