Ingredients:

    Cranberry sauce, a popular dish particularly during the holidays, is generally high in carbs and sugar calories. This Recipe Makeover uses a sugar replacement to lower the sugar, but without losing the flavor.
  Recipe Makeover

    2 cup (8 oz) fresh or frozen cranberries *
    2/3 cup water
    2/3 cup Equal® Spoonful™ **

  Traditional Recipe

    2 cup (8 oz) fresh or frozen cranberries *
    2/3 cup water
    2/3 cup sugar **

Directions:

    Combine cranberries and water in medium saucepan. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberry skins pop.

    Remove from heat; mash slightly. Stir in Equal®. Cover and chill.

Variations:

    ** If preferred, can replace artificial sweetener with an equal amount of sugar. (See attached traditional recipe for nutritional information.)
