Cooking Time: 15 mins

    500.00 g lean beef stir-fry strips *
    1 tsp crushed garlic
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    1 onion, chopped
    1/3 cup slivered almonds
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 tsp ground turmeric
    1 tsp ground cumin
    1 Tbsp sugar
1 (14 oz) can tomatoes, with their juice
    57.14 g spinach, shredded

To prepare beef strips, put beef, covered, into freezer until firm, about 30 minutes.

Slice across the grain of the steak in very thin strips. Mix beef strips with garlic and half of the oil.

Heat wok or skillet on high (no need to add any extra oil). Stir-fry beef strips in small batches for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove when cooked and allow pan to reheat before stir-frying next batch.

Heat remaining oil in pan. Stir-fry onion, almonds and raisins for 1 to 2 minutes. Return stir-fried beef strips. Add turmeric, cumin, sugar, tomatoes, and spinach. Allow to heat through, about 1 to 2 minutes.

    * Recommended Cuts: Beef strips available for stir-frying or prepared from blade, fillet, rib eye, round, rump, or sirloin steak.

Serve with couscous or boiled rice.
