3 1/2 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup honey
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup finely chopped dried figs (in grinder or food processor)
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (such as walnuts)
In large bowl, mix eggs, sugar, honey, and oil. Stir in flour, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, and baking powder. Fold in figs and nuts. Pour batter into 2 greased/floured loaf pans.
Bake in preheated slow 300ºF oven for 1 hour or until firm to the touch in the center. Unmold and cool on racks. Cool thoroughly before cutting into slices.
