Approaching age 40, losing my Dad recently and not wanting to waste the rest of my life. Also, four wonderful children who need me and love me.

My own dependency on food for comfort, family eating patterns which were contrary to my goals, changing a pattern of eating that I've maintained for the past 30 years.
-
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Don't worry too much about your diet content but focus instead on the calories. Content may take care of itself as you see the benefits of weight loss. Also, increased physical activity was critical for me as it gave me the freedom to blow it at times (I could exercies more to make up) and it also was a good stress reliever, which for me was trigger for overeating before.

Like a freed prisoner! Difficult to put into words.
