What were your weight-control goals?

My goal was to lose 1 pound a month, but I achieved more than that! It took me 2 years to do it and I did!

What motivated you to lose weight?

Ten years ago I was diagnosed having diabetes. I refused to let myself go any further. I got scared! So, I purchased Richard Simmons Deal-A-Meal Plan and I got moving! It took me 2 years to get it off to where I wasnt huffing and puffing around.

What was your weight-loss method?

First, I started walking. I would walk two city blocks, then four and so on. I used Richard Simmon's Disco Sweat and Sweating to the Oldies.

What were some obstacles you encountered while losing weight?

My sisters laughed at me saying, "You ain't going to lose!" My ex-husband always put me down saying things like, "You will always be fat!"

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Sometimes you will see when you exercise your weight may not go down, that is because you are building muscle and muscle weighs more. Also, buy a food scale, which can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart. I also use measuring cups and spoons. I write down everything that I eat and do. I also bought a pedometer and use it even at work!

How do you feel now that you've lost weight?

I feel good about myself, but I have backed off and have gained some weight back. I have gained 35 pounds in the past 5 years. But, I look at it this way I did it before and I can do it again!!!

I have just purchased CalorieKing's Calorie book as of yesterday. I joined the website and have ordered the paper diary. I like the way that you write everything in your personal diary because of it showing the exact amounts you are feeding yourself on a daily and weekly basis. I like it, it's great!!!
