I'm supposed to be keeping this dang thing up to date! It seems silly to spend a few minutes every day (sometimes a couple times a day) describing my process to my DDR buddy via private messages, and then coming here to say the same thing over again! Especially since I think she might be the only one that ever checks my blog, if she does at all
But for the sake of keeping a record, I'll make an effort!
I've been using Dance Dance Revolution for the Wii as my primary cardio workout for the past week and a half. I haven't seen much results yet weight-wise, but I am definitely getting better at it! Some days I am distracted and can't really do more than twenty minutes or so, but other days I am so into it I can go for over two hours, and I am a sweaty, sopping (and stinky!) mess after but man do I feel good! I've added situps into the mix each night as well, doing three different kinds of crunches to work the different ab muscles: standard crunches that seem most effective right under my ribcage, "sideways" crunches where I try to touch my elbows to my ankles, and leg crunches that focus on the lower abs, where I sit up, and pull my legs into my body. I am doing 20 of each, though I think I'll push by 10 each week. We'll have to see how I feel next week though before I decide.
To track my situps and my DDR I've printed off a simple calendar and am putting a sticker on each day that I do either of these (I have a different sticker for each), and am also tracking how many situps and how many minutes/calories I dance. I want to revisit the goals I meant to set but never made "official" and maybe print it up so I don't forget.
Weigh-in this week claims 187 lbs, and I hope that it is temporary fluid retention. I am trying to drink as much water as I can to try and flush it out and will reweigh in a couple days. I find it very hard to believe that even though I haven't been specifically counting calories I somehow managed an excess of nearly 9000 calories in a week (which along with ~2000 "RMR" calories a day is over 3000 calories a day I would have had to eat!). So far today I've already started on my second 750 mL bottle of water (I also had a can of diet pepsi for a bit of a caffiene kick to start the day). I'm going to try and get through 4 bottles total which is 3L of water. I'll be running to the bathroom all day but it'll be worth it (plus I kind of like the excuse to get up from my desk)!

It sounds like you're doing a ton of work ... good for you! Try to get to three reps of 20 on everything you can, and you'll feel like a million bucks in no time.

Nobody checks my blog either, so don't feel bad. Maybe it would help if I remembered to upload some pictures or something.... don't worry about the water retention, it happens to me all the time! Drinking a bunch of water should def. help- I share the sentiment about getting up from my desk.... I take the back route around my office so I don't have to walk by my boss =)
