I met with my new "boss" at work finally yesterday. It went ok. She is going to let me have the job that I want--- PRN STAT POOL ( this means I work when I want and I work any where they need me in the hospital--this is a way to make the most money possible--I need this job so I can work less hours!!) I am very excited to finally officially have my job. They have been giving me such a run around over the last month. You would think when you say you are ready to come back to work as a nurse, as short staffed as they are, they would say can you start tonight???? Somehow thats not what happened....
So there is one more hoop to jump through....She wants me to "reorient"...like I forgot how to be a nurse in the last 6 months off???? I have been a nurse for 7 years!!! I was planning to start back slowly, some 4 hour shifts at first. She wants me to work 36 hours in a row, for 2 weeks straight to "reorient". Its going to feel so wierd to be working under another nurse like I am a student or something. I am also going to be so tired after working 36 hours straight after not working for so long. Nursing is hard tiring work! But I am really just greatful to be back!! I will deal with this final hoop!I will be leaving on Monday am to come home to deal with three kids all day on no sleep.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!Not looking forward to that. I may make hubbie take a personal day that first Monday???
I am hoping my supervison, whom I get along with great, will see that this Director is crazy with all this orientation and talk her out of the second weekend of it??? We will see. She is new, only a month on the job and I think she is trying to assert her authority!
