The last "final" goal

Wednesday, August 26th 2009

I weighed in at 154.75 the other day with a final goal of 155. I went ahead and re-set my final goal to 147. Previously, I had set a goal of 160 because when I started at 194 that seemed like a good place to start. It got me just in to an acceptable BMI range. And I've dieted down before and "just couldn't stand it" to do what I had to do to stay that low. And 147 may be "too low". After all I'm a 52 year old peri-menopausal woman. But I'll try it. I'll know if it's n...

Reflections on what I can do that I couldn't do 4 months ago

Friday, August 21st 2009

I've been on CK now about 4 months; just a bit more than 4 months. This week I attended two spinning classes. I didn't do a fabulous job. I basically rode the bike, learned the moves and sweated. I didn't do a lot of manipulation of the levels of effort. But I didn't do a lot of extra sitting on the seat. And it didn't take sheer gutting it out to last the class--tonights was ridiculously long--over an hour. I didn't perform at a high level but I performed. Sweated like a pig.

And I...

a nice weekend

Sunday, August 16th 2009

Well, it's been a weekend. My son starts school this Wednesday and he goes to a school where they were uniforms. BUT he's a Senior, so I was pretty cheap and didn't pay for any more stuff than necessary. But it was a trip to the city for us. We did some eating at Texas Roadhouse, which is just your typical tasty but way too large of servings. But I think I'm coping with the 1200 calories. And I did a great bike ride. Kansas can have some wind and so it seems like mother nature is turning ...

1200 is hard

Wednesday, August 12th 2009

Well, I came back from vacation and went onto 1200 calories. Twelve hundred is hard. It just doesn't take much to reach it. I know I will get used to it. I always do, but right now, I'm just feeling it. And it's starting to get dark earlier; harder to get outdoor exercise in before the sun sets. That brings up anxiety about how hard it will be to exercise when the school year gets rolling. (School started today; first day with kids was today.)

All that worry and no solutions. Take i...

Back from vacation

Friday, August 7th 2009

Well we went to Colorado for a short vacation, did a day hike and spent time putzing around in Denver. As all Coloradoans know, the state is beautiful. And you have great restaurants in Denver.

So our hike up to Hartenstein Lake left me pretty sore. An afternoon thunder rumble while my son was forging ahead made me very nervous but all was well and down was certainly easier than up.

And then there was the food. I took my breakfast cereal a long and really tried to snack healthy but...
