Thursday, May 31 2007 - the butt of the joke

View WILLLOSEIT's food & exercise for this day

he said something
my hair stylist that is
he meant it as funny
but today i didn't laugh
i guess i am wearing my sensitive skin today

i do laugh at myself
all the time
it's healthy
it is the best medicine
so they say
it burns calories
not enough though
i should be a twig....

he said something
just a comment about my butt
big butt
i can say it
but he can't
or anyone else
he didn't mean to hurt me
he is not that way
but it did

it's hot today
too hot to walk outside
maybe in a 100 pounds
that will be next year
or perhaps the year after
i am the turtle
losing the weight race
or any race
who is wearing her sensitive skin
at least for today
is anyone else feeling that way?

We all have days like this. People can be so hurtful without even meaning to be. Hold your head, high, girl! You are doing what you need to do to take care of yourself, and that is more important than anything else. You will get where you want to be. And remember, this "race" is not about speed, but endurance. It doesn't matter how long it takes. Whether you take care of yourself or not, the time will pass anyway. So you may as well do what's good for your body and soul. Persevere!

:hi: Hi Grace! Yes, when we are faced with how others' perceive how we appear it somehow cuts deeper and harsher than when we are faced with it just between the mirror and us. I think that everyone here could relate to the wearing of your "sensitive skin," and how badly the burn of The Truth of Our Matter can feel. BTW, you won't lose THIS race, just as long as you don't give up on yourself. Please remember that this "race" is won one meal/snack at a time and with how that builds on itself, and it is never lost as long as you keep making the efforts and learning from the mistakes. You are in a good place here at CK, and there a ton of people who are willing to turtle-along this "race" with you, and for the WHOLE way to health :) Stay strong and have faith in yourself! Most sincerely, Kristen
